West Virginians and Michelle Obama: “Proud to be Americans”

It has taken me awhile to frame a response to Cindy McCain and the rest of the conservative cabal about their misappropriation of Michelle Obama’s comments regarding her American pride.

However, the great voters of West Virginia have done me the favor of providing a visual and priceless commentary.  After watching the video it may be easy to understand why she made these comments back in February.  Unfortunately, the GOP in Tennessee is airing a four minute commercial taking Michelle to task over her comments.

Michelle Obama told an audience of supporters, “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country, because it feels like hope is making a comeback. Not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.”

 After watching the video and maybe reflecting on our great American society’s past and present race problems one may understand the true meaning of her words.

Also, aren’t the code words interesting?

Hard working class white Americans = Rednecks

Muslim = Niggers

Un-American = Non-white

Un-patriotic = Non-white

Able to sing Star Spangled Banner = White American

Can say the Pledge of Allegiance = White American

Hard Working Blue Collar American = White
