Russell Simmons to Stump for Obama

Russell Simmons godfather of hip-hop has defected from Team Clinton and joined forces with Barack Obama’s campaign.  Simmons has cited Obama’s ability to get young, black voters out to the polls as one of the reasons he’s endorsing Obama.  Simmons will be in Ohio tomorrow campaigning for Obama.  Other hip-hoppers like 50-cent are said to be souring on Clinton and may turn-out for Obama.  Sean P. Diddy Combs couldn’t be reached for comment.  I’m still wondering what happened to Diddy’s “Vote or Die” campaign? 

This is certainly the year for voting as John McCain has stated that he intends for the war to continue to 2000 and forever if he’s elected president and that he really does not know that much about the economy.  Sadly, this is a year for dying as evidenced in the (nearly) 4,000 young men and women who have perished in Iraq since the war began. The 4,000 causalities do not include Afghanistan, either.   So I ask, again, where’s Diddy and his red, white, and blue t-shirt?  Stand up and be counted hip-hop.
